Can you tell us a bit more about the Caribbean Property team?
The team comprises of Charlie Lunn, Toby Pearcy, Kurt Drury and me (Michael Edwards); we have been working together for over 14 years and have a fantastic bond between us. The team shares the passion and pride about the business which stems from delivering the best possible service to our clients.
What are the teams’ main areas of expertise and what type of accounts do you handle?
We specialise in Property Direct & Facultative in the English, Dutch and Spanish Caribbean.

The team has vast knowledge of the region and relationships with local markets, international reinsurers and underwriters.
How can the team help/work with North American intermediaries?
We can assist with any US or Canadian owned property in the Caribbean, providing the best possible insurance solutions. This ranges from High Value homes to complex commercial schedules and exposures. Additional recent recruitment complements the team with specific in-depth energy/power & utilities experience in the region.
How does the process work?
This all depends on the type of risk i.e. Commercial or Homeowners and where the risk is situated, we would utilise the best possible markets. We require our application forms to be completed, to provide underwriters with the adequate information to receive terms (these forms can be shared upon request).
What are your minimum premiums?
This all depends on where the capacity is coming from. If we use a local insurer then there will be no minimum premiums, but if we have to use the international (re)insurance market then those carriers will have minimum premiums for their respective shares, but not for an account as a whole.
