Head of Property & Casualty

Matthew Keeping

Matthew has recently joined Miller to lead Miller's Property and Casualty business unit. He has over 20 years' experience and extensive knowledge of P&C, Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance.

Matthew joined Miller in January 2023 from Foresight, where he was Head of Distribution. Prior to this, he spent time at QBE North America as well as 14 years at Willis, where he held several roles in the UK and North America.

Away from the office, Matthew enjoys a round of golf and piloting private aircraft.

Head of Mergers & Acquisitions

Claire Connolly

Claire has recently joined Miller as Head of M&A, specialising in M&A transactions and corporate development.

She has over 15 years’ experience in the finance and insurance industries, holding various senior M&A roles, supporting the development of M&A strategy, and managing the execution of M&A transactions in multiple regions.

Claire’s responsibilities lie with executing Miller’s expansion across the UK, Europe and Asia through M&A transactions.

Cyber

Umber O'Doherty

Umber has recently joined Miller’s Cyber team as dedicated Counsel, offering legal support and enhancing Miller’s offering by reviewing the coverage offered by insurers and creating bespoke products.

As a litigator and coverage lawyer, Umber has acted for insurers and reinsurers on a range of liability defence, coverage and subrogated recovery actions arising from the London Market and internationally. She has also worked as an Associate in the Property & Liability team for a global law firm, with a particular focus on product liability.

In her spare time, Umber enjoys having a coffee at the gym, socialising with friends and spending time with her two children, dog and husband.

Luke Pordham

Luke has recently joined as a Broker within Miller’s Cyber team, designing and placing bespoke solutions for both international and US business.

Luke began his career on the Lloyd’s Graduate Programme, where he spent his rotations within the performance management division of Lloyd’s, Beazley’s cyber underwriting team and then a leading independent for his broking placement. After finalising the graduate scheme, Luke remained at Price Forbes managing the large corporate and SME complex risks.

To date, Luke has specialised in both US and international business, with a focus on European, Middle Eastern and Canadian business alongside some more non-traditional lines of cyber including crypto, NFTs and cyber-property risks. Luke also has significant experience in handling both media and technology E&O risks, having worked with some of the largest broadcasters in the world.

In his spare time, Luke is a big sports fan playing cricket, rugby, and golf, as well as skiing and watching football.

Marine Hull

Miles Davies

Miles has recently joined Miller’s Marine Hull team as an Account Handler/Broker, specialising in marine war, kidnap & ransom, and marine hull.

Miles previously worked for Lockton in a range of roles from the technical processing team to account management, where he was responsible for running the kidnap & ransom book of business. He also has experience handling hull and yacht business.

Outside of work, Miles enjoys watching and playing rugby.

Marine & Transport Liabilities

Ed Griffiths

Ed has recently joined Miller’s Marine & Transport Liability team as an Account Handler and Broker. His area of expertise includes Marine Liabilities and Ports & Terminals, primarily but not strictly US focussed.

Ed has been in the insurance industry for seven years, having previously worked for WTW in both their London and Ipswich offices, and has extensive experience placing obscure marine liability coverages.

In his spare time, Ed is a keen golfer and football fan.

Helen Forster

Helen is part of the Miller’s Marine & Transportation Liability team. She has over 20 years industry experience, underwriting for Syndicate, P&I Club and MGA’s as well as working in Broking Houses.

She is a marine specialist and has a broad range of experience, handling marine liability and specialist P&I insurances. This includes general liability and maritime employer’s liability for a variety of Contractors, brown and blue water P&I, charterer’s liability, and logistics liability for international clients with complex insurance needs.

She works with Clients worldwide with significant experience in the US and EU.

Outside of work, Helen enjoys running, horse riding and painting.

Miller Bermuda

Gary Stockley

Gary is an Account Executive based in Miller’s Bermuda office. He joins an expanding insurance team with access to Bermuda insurance markets.

Gary’s focus and experience lies in Bermuda-domiciled business, including providing cover for financial institutions, financial services, investment managers, investment funds and hedge funds, insurance companies, law firms, architects, engineers, specialist offshore financial service companies, and professions in the technology and healthcare sector.

He has experience in both the Bermuda and London insurance markets, having been vice president of a Bermuda-domiciled broker for 20 years. He also has experience as a retail and wholesale broker providing insurance placements and solutions in the Bermuda insurance market and underwriting financial lines insurance, in the London insurance market.

In his spare time, Gary enjoys spending time with his family, running, skiing, and traveling.
